Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 4 August 2026
1. Acceptance & your consent
By submitting a query or document, making any payment, creating an account, or using iQanoon® in any way, you confirm that you have reviewed and accepted these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy (together, the “Agreement”).
You must consent to all three before sending a query or making a payment. Consent is given by checking the consent box on our submission form and/or by proceeding to payment. If you do not accept any part of the Agreement, you must not use the service, submit any query or document, or make any payment.
Using the service after any change to the Agreement constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
2. The iQanoon service
iQanoon is a legal validation service for AI-generated work. It validates legal documents and legal queries produced by any AI model — including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any other large language model — against real jurisdictional legal standards. Validation is performed by registered, licensed legal professionals (affiliates) in each jurisdiction.
iQanoon is model-agnostic and jurisdiction-agnostic in its serving. It is a technology platform (workflow, routing, payments, and portals); it is not an AI tool and does not generate legal content. iQanoon is powered by iLegal Solutions Limited, a legal consultancy firm registered under Innovation City, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
3. Document & query validation
A validation covers the review of a single document or a single query-and-answer pair against the legal standards of your chosen jurisdiction. Each validation includes review for legal accuracy and jurisdictional correctness, with corrections, flags, and recommendations returned with the validated output.
Turnaround is from 24 hours and may extend up to 72 hours for denser or more complex documents. Page counts in each tier refer to standard pages of submitted content, as defined below.
Standard page & format requirements.
A standard page is a page of submitted content that meets all of the following requirements:
- Font size of 12 points or larger throughout the document body.
- No more than 200 words per page on average across the document.
- A commonly readable format: PDF or DOCX (other formats may be accepted at our discretion but are not guaranteed).
These requirements exist because page-count pricing assumes a consistent page density. A document with a very small font or dense formatting that significantly exceeds 200 words per page is effectively more review work than the tier covers.
Non-compliant documents.
You must submit documents that meet the standard-page requirements. If a submitted document does not meet them — for example, it uses a font smaller than 12 points, or its average word density exceeds 200 words per page — it will be treated as exceeding the tier’s page allowance, and we may, at our discretion and after notifying you:
- request that you resubmit the document in a compliant format;
- apply a density surcharge reflecting the additional review work; or
- re-price the validation to the tier that covers the effective page count.
In every case, we will notify you before proceeding and give you the option to resubmit or accept the adjusted pricing. The turnaround clock pauses while we await your response, and no refund is provided for delays caused by a non-compliant submission.
Corrupted, unreadable or encrypted files.
You are responsible for submitting files that are valid, complete, and openable. If a submitted file is corrupted, unreadable, password-protected without the password provided, or otherwise cannot be processed:
- the turnaround clock pauses until a valid, openable file is received;
- we will notify you and request a resubmission;
- no refund is provided for delays caused by a corrupted, unreadable, or inaccessible submission, and the non-refundable clause (§9) applies.
We are not liable for any content we cannot access due to file corruption, encryption we were not given the key to, or format incompatibility. We may screen submitted files for viruses, malware, and file integrity before opening them, and may decline to open or process any file that fails screening or that we reasonably believe poses a security risk — in which case we will request a resubmission.
Scope where work exceeds the excess threshold.
If a contract or query requires extensive work above the 5-page excess threshold covered by the density surcharge, our validation will be limited to that extent. Before proceeding, we will send you an optional note advising of the extra work required and the cost to settle it in advance. If you opt out of the additional work, we will return to you: (a) our brief opinion on the content reviewed up to that point; (b) our review of the current content as validated; and (c) a recommendation of what further work is needed, for you to have completed through your own lawyers. No refund is provided where you opt out of the additional work, and the non-refundable clause (§9) applies.
Every submission is a new submission.
Every submission is treated as a new and separate validation. We do not perform second reviews of work we have already completed, except where the issue was our onus (an error or omission on our part) or where the quality of our original validation was demonstrably deficient. In those limited cases, any re-review is at our discretion.
Non-legal submissions.
iQanoon strictly and exclusively validates documents or queries of a legal nature, from a legal perspective only. The cost of a submission is triggered when you click submit — not before — and you have the opportunity to retrieve or cancel your submission before that point. If you submit a document that contains no legal content to validate (for example, a photograph, a mathematical equation, or other non-legal material), whether by error or to test the service, the fee remains payable and non-refundable. We will send you a note confirming that we reviewed the document and found no legal content to validate therein, and we accept no liability in respect of a submission that is not of a legal nature.
What we do not validate.
iQanoon validates the content of AI-generated documents and queries against jurisdictional legal standards. We do not validate, and do not accept submissions for, documents intended for use in court, arbitration, mediation, or similar formal proceedings, including but not limited to statements of claim, statements of defense, submissions, pleadings, witness statements, or hearing bundles.
These are outside the scope of content validation because they require a review of the entire matter and its documentation, the running of conflict checks, and compliance with procedural and conduct obligations that are the core role of an advocate or barrister instructed on the matter — not a content validation service. If you submit a document of this nature, we will notify you that it falls outside the scope of the service; no validation will be performed, the fee remains payable and non-refundable in accordance with §9, and we accept no liability in respect of such a submission. You should engage counsel qualified in the relevant jurisdiction for any matter requiring formal-proceedings representation or full-matter review.
4. Pricing
One-off validation
One-off document or query validation is priced by document length: AED 499 (up to 10 pages), AED 999 (up to 15 pages), AED 1,999 (up to 25 pages), and AED 3,999 (up to 40 pages).
Subscription
Monthly subscriptions include 3 document or query validations per month: Starter at AED 999 (up to 10 pages each), Standard at AED 1,999 (up to 15 pages each), Extended at AED 3,999 (up to 25 pages each), and Comprehensive at AED 7,999 (up to 40 pages each). Annual subscriptions include 2 months free and are billed annually.
Add-ons
Additional document reviews may be purchased as web add-ons, in any of the four document sizes, and scheduled as one-off or recurring jobs as necessitated by the user. Add-on pricing follows the corresponding one-off tier for the selected document size.
5. Language & bilingual documents
The validation service is provided for documents in either English or Arabic. Documents submitted in both languages (bilingual documents) incur an additional charge of AED 999 per document, applied on top of the applicable tier or add-on fee. The language of your submission is confirmed during the submission process.
Language scope of our response. We validate only the document as uploaded, and our response is limited to the language(s) in which the document is presented to us. If your document is in English, our validation is in English; if it is in Arabic, our validation is in Arabic; and if it is presented bilingually, our validation is bilingual and limited to the bilingual nature of the document. Where a bilingual document is submitted, you may direct us to validate only one of the two languages and disengage from the other — in which case our validation will be limited to the language you have specified, and the bilingual surcharge will not apply. We do not validate a document against any other document not uploaded as part of the same submission.
Single-document scope. A validation covers only the document you upload as part of that submission. If your matter involves multiple related documents (for example, a main agreement and its schedules or ancillary agreements), each document must be submitted and priced separately, or combined into a single file — in which case the page count is calculated on the combined file as submitted, and the applicable tier is determined by that total page count.
6. Jurisdictions
Validation is currently operational in the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Jordan. Saudi Arabia and other MENA jurisdictions will be added as registered, licensed affiliates are confirmed in each market. Services are only available where a licensed affiliate is operational in the selected jurisdiction.
7. Your obligations — removal of personal information (PII)
You are responsible for ensuring that any personally identifiable information (PII) is removed or redacted from your documentation before you submit it to iQanoon for validation.
Because iQanoon is agnostic in its serving — processing submissions across AI tools and licensed affiliates in multiple jurisdictions — you must not submit documents containing PII that you are not authorized to share across those environments. iQanoon is not liable for any PII included in submissions, and accepts no responsibility for the handling of PII that you choose to include despite this obligation.
By submitting a document or query, you confirm that you have removed or are authorized to share any personal information it contains, and that your submission does not infringe the rights of any third party.
8. Subscriptions, renewal & cancellation
Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually and are renewable until cancelled. Unused validations do not roll over into the following billing period. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Annual subscriptions include 2 months free and are billed annually in advance.
9. Payment, cleared funds & refunds
Payment methods & taxes.
All fees are quoted exclusive of VAT and credit card processing charges, which are added on top of the stated price. Payment is processed via Stripe, Network International, or other available methods as applicable. Fees are charged in advance per document, per query, or per billing period.
Validation work starts on cleared funds.
Validation work begins only once payment has been received in cleared funds in our account. The turnaround clock (24 to 72 hours) starts from the moment cleared funds are received — not from the moment a query is submitted or a payment instruction is initiated. Queries submitted without payment, or with payments that fail to clear, will not be processed or assigned to an affiliate.
All payments are non-refundable.
All payments are non-refundable once made. This includes one-off validations, subscription fees (monthly and annual), add-on purchases, and bilingual surcharges. Once payment is received in cleared funds, no refund will be issued, whether or not validation work has commenced.
If you cancel a subscription, it remains active until the end of the current billing period and no refund is provided for the unused portion of that period. Annual subscriptions are non-refundable once the billing period has begun.
This clause does not affect any non-waivable statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.
10. Account access & portals
iQanoon provides three access portals: a user portal for clients, an affiliate portal for licensed legal professionals, and an admin portal for managing users and affiliates. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Access is granted at iQanoon’s discretion and may be suspended for misuse.
11. Confidentiality
Submissions are handled under strict confidentiality and reviewed by licensed legal professionals bound by professional privilege considerations. iQanoon does not train AI models on your submitted content without permission.
12. Validation, not a legal opinion
iQanoon performs validation of legal content and content of a legal nature. There is a material distinction between a legal opinion — a formal, matter-specific view given by a lawyer on your specific circumstances — and the validation that iQanoon provides, which is a review of AI-generated content against the legal standards of a jurisdiction. iQanoon provides validation only, and does not provide a legal opinion.
Nothing in our validation should be construed as a legal opinion on your specific transaction, circumstances, or dispute. Validation does not create a lawyer-client relationship between you and any affiliate for the purposes of your specific matter, and is not a substitute for legal advice in specific matters. Any matter-specific legal opinion or full professional review of a matter is a separate engagement from iQanoon and is outside the scope of these terms.
You should not rely on iQanoon’s validation as a substitute for advice from a lawyer qualified in your jurisdiction on your specific situation. You remain responsible for deciding whether to use, sign, file, or rely on any validated document, and for the consequences of doing so.
13. Limitation of liability & insurance
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, iQanoon excludes all warranties, conditions, and representations relating to the service, including any guarantee of a particular outcome from a validation.
Limitation of liability.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, iQanoon (and iLegal Solutions Limited and its affiliates) shall have no liability to you for any ordinary negligence in connection with the service. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these terms or the service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, shall not exceed the fee you actually paid for the relevant validation, or the current subscription fee attributable to the relevant billing period, in aggregate. This cap is fixed by reference to the fee paid for the specific validation or subscription at issue and cannot be inflated or challenged by your opting for, or relying on, any higher-priced validation, higher subscription tier, or greater spend to increase the cap. Our liability arises only in respect of gross negligence or willful misconduct, and only after a final, non-appealable court order to that effect has been obtained against us. In no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of business, or loss of data.
Insurance.
You are strongly recommended to obtain and maintain your own professional indemnity, legal expense, or equivalent insurance cover in respect of your use of any validated document in your specific matters. Because iQanoon provides validation of legal content and not a legal opinion on your specific matter (see §12), you should not rely on iQanoon’s validation as a substitute for matter-specific legal advice and insurance.
14. Your indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless iQanoon, iLegal Solutions Limited, and its affiliates from and against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: your breach of these terms (including your PII obligations under §7); your submission of content you are not authorized to share; the infringement of any third-party intellectual property right in the documents you submit; or your use of any validated document.
15. Intellectual property
You retain ownership of your submitted documents. Upon full payment, you own the validated deliverables returned to you. iQanoon retains all rights to its pre-existing methodologies, processes, platform content, and the iQanoon® trademark.
16. Force majeure
iQanoon is not liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations where the delay or failure is caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, network or infrastructure outages, failures of third-party providers (including payment processors and cloud infrastructure), government actions, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.
17. General provisions
Severability. If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
Entire agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and iQanoon relating to the service and supersede any prior agreements.
Changes. We may update these terms from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date and notify you of material changes where required. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance.
Waiver & assignment. No failure or delay by iQanoon in enforcing any right is a waiver. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a corporate transaction.
18. Governing law & disputes
iQanoon® is powered by iLegal Solutions Limited, a legal consultancy firm registered under Innovation City, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. These terms are governed by the laws of Innovation City and the UAE, and disputes are resolved in the competent courts of Dubai.
